🇺🇸 ELECTION DAY=ART DAY: School’s Out. Polls Are Open. We’ve Got the Kids!

Ages 5–16 • $70 PER CHILD

School is closed for Election Day — so while you head to the polls, send the kids to the studio!

We’re celebrating our nation’s voting rights with a day of art, clay and creativity!

And at $70 for the day, parents get a full school-day solution while kids get real art instruction, all materials and some seriously cool ceramic projects.

🗳️ MORNING: MAKE YOUR OWN “I VOTED” MUG

We all know and love Michigan’s “I Voted” Sticker Contest, which lets young artists create their own voting-sticker designs and Michiganians vote for their favorites. We’re taking that idea into the clay studio!

Kids will design their own original “I Voted” sticker, recreate it on a thick round clay medallion, and attach it to a handmade ceramic mug — so it looks like a giant ceramic voting sticker has been stuck right onto the cup. Every morning student makes an I Voted Mug.

⭐ AFTERNOON: KIDS CHOICE

STARS & STRIPES LUMINARY:

We’ll provide a hand-thrown porcelain form, and kids cut their own stars, stripes and shapes through the clay. Once finished, a light placed inside projects those shapes onto the surrounding walls.

OR

FAMILY SUGGESTION BOX: Kids construct their own ceramic suggestion box from prepared clay slabs — ready for the whole family’s brilliant ideas, requests, dinner suggestions and occasional wishes for ice cream.

Come for the morning, come for the afternoon, or stay for the entire 9 - 4 day. The price is still $70.

Full-day kids make TWO ceramic projects:🗳️ I Voted Mug in the morning, PLUS their choice of afternoon project.

Regular Day: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Doors open 10 minutes before the session begins.

WHAT TO BRING

Staying all day? Pack a lunch.

Everyone should bring:• Snack• Water bottle• Comfortable clothes that can handle clay and art materials• Any necessary labeled medication with written instructions. Please pack nut-free when possible because this is a shared studio environment.

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

Advance registration is required — no unregistered walk-ins.

An authorized adult must sign children out at pickup.

A NOTE ABOUT CERAMICS

These are real ceramic projects made from wet clay, not take-home craft kits. Pieces must dry completely and then go through the kiln process before they’re ready to come home.

We’ll contact you when finished work is ready for pickup. Please allow approximately 1½–4 weeks, depending on drying time and kiln scheduling.

ILLNESS

Please keep your child home if there is evidence of fever, coughing, sneezing, diarrhea or vomiting within the last 24 hours. We will call for your child to be picked up if those signs are evident in the studio that day. Our studio is a cozy space, and we don't want to inconvenience other families.
